The West Documentary Analysis
http://www.pbs.org/weta/thewest/program/episodes/ ) You may read a transcript of an episode of the west documentary (the link above), or you may watch an episode by searching for Ken Burns’ The West on YouTube, plus the title of the episode.
Choose one of the first three episodes:
The People, Empire Upon the Trails, or Speck of the Future. If you are watching on YouTube, you may want to click on the link first to decide which episode you want to watch. Make sure your essay reflects the people, events, and places of the episode. Don’t simply restate the introduction.
You must discuss the entire episode, not just one or two sections. Take very brief notes while you’re reading/watching, then log off the site/YouTube and discuss the information without summarizing. Essays with fewer than the minimum 750 words will always receive a zero. Headings and titles do not count toward the 750-word minimum
